Posted by (152.163.252.194) on October 10, 2003 at 11:24:02: I have an English Staff. He is approximately 3 years old. He is a rescued dog. He was abused and nearly starved to death. Despite all this, he has a very good temperment toward people. My problem is his aggressiveness toward other animals outside the family. We have 2 other dogs and a cat in the house. He gets along perfectly fine with them, but he is almost uncontrollable when he sees another animal outside or when we are on our walks. He went through the glass portion of my storm door the other day trying to get at another dog being walked on my street. Thankfully, only minor cuts to his feet. Needless to say, the lady walking her dog was not pleased. Her dog was not injured, in fact my dog, Buster, was not trying to attack the other dog, just wanted to chase and play. His aggressiveness makes it very difficult to walk him at times, I go late in the evening to cut down on chances of coming across other dog walkers. Once he "goes off", he does not seem to even hear me or pay any attention to me at all. Any suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
